General Questions

Where are you located?

311 West Washington Street, Brainerd, MN 56401

We are located inside the Fine Line Salon and Spa, upstairs in Suite B.
When you arrive, you can inquire at the front desk, and they will show you up to the office.

How will I know what services I need?

Each of our services are personalized to you as we understand no two people are alike. We offer full in-depth complimentary consultations in order to help you decide the best treatment plan for you and to ensure your results are aligned with your expectations.

What should I do before an appointment?

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a text and email notification. In that communication, you will have instructions to activate your own account in our patient portal. Prior to the appointment, it is very helpful if all of the forms and consents are completed online. This allows us to spend more time discussing your goals, rather than abstracting health history, etc.

If you are receiving any injectable treatments, please let us know if you are taking any blood thinning medications such as aspirin, plavix, warfarin, elequis, advil, Motrin, Aleve, Meloxicam, vitamin e, gingko biloba or St. John’s Wart.

Alcoholic beverages should also be avoided at least 24 hours prior to injectables or microneedling treatment.

Do you sell any skin care products?

Yes we do! No skin care treatment plan is complete without the continued use of medical grade skin care. Medical grade skin care is “prescription” strength versus “over the counter” strength when purchased anywhere outside a medical office.

We carry Revision Skin Care primarily. We also carry products from Neocutis and AntAge. These have been tried and personally chosen by us for the quality of product and the personal results we have seen using them. Feel free to ask any questions and we do have samples for you to try out.

About Our Services

I have an event coming up, when should I plan my treatment?

To achieve the best skin for your event, we recommend 2-4 weeks prior to your event, depending on the treatment received.

Is there any pre-treatment instructions before getting Botox?

Avoid taking any medications with aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and/or Vitamin E in them for one week prior to treatment. This will reduce the possibility of any bruising at the injection site.

Are there any post-treatment considerations when getting Botox?

Depending on where the Botox is strategically placed, these are some of the post-treatment recommendations:

  • Keep your head up for 4 hours after treatment.
  • Don’t wear hats or sunglasses for 4 hours after treatment.
  • Don’t work out or shower for 24 hours.

Following these recommendations will ensure the injected Botox does not get displaced from where it has been injected.

How does Botox work?

Botox is injected into a muscle to temporarily relax the muscle to prevent movement and assist wrinkle reduction. The movement of muscles causes wrinkles; so by preventing movement, it helps reduce or soften wrinkles.

When will I see results from getting Botox and how long will they last?

You may see results as early as 24-48 hours of injection, but the Botox is still binding to the receptors in the muscle. So results typically become visible in 10-14 days from the injection, with the maximum effect at 30 days.

For most of our patients, the effects of Botox last anywhere from 3-6 months. As they begin to wear off, previously treated lines and wrinkles may re-appear. But, with repeated treatment, frown lines and crow’s feet often appear less severe than before, since the muscles have been trained to relax.

Do Botox injections hurt?

There is minimal discomfort ~ no local or topical anesthesia is necessary. Most say, “that’s it?”. Rest assured, as advanced practiced nurses, we do not want to do anything that will be uncomfortable for you.

What is Glow-Tox?

Glow-Tox is a term that refers to the combination of two treatments the same day that work to enhance overall results. In this instance it is combining a VI Peel followed by Botox. This allows for a more refined texture, reduced wrinkles and fine lines, improved skin tone and reduced hyperpigmentation.
